For what is my first novel, “Tragic Coincidence” (2020), there was never any doubt that I would return to PublishNation to ask for their help in finalising it for publication. Once you have used a service and found it most satisfactory why do otherwise?
By chance I had originally found PublicNation whilst looking for a way to publish my first book which was written to provide a snapshot of my early working days as a Probation Officer. “The Heydays for the Independent Probation Officer in England and Wales 1950’s – 1970’s” was only ever going to be of interest to relatively few people who had, perhaps, worked in that field in the past and possibly also to a researcher in years to come. I did not want to spend a lot of money to publish and PublishNation offer a very economical way of getting into print. A badly advised friend had spent a lot of money (thousands) getting his book published whereas for me it was just a few hundred, certainly no more than one would expect to spend on a modest hobby.
Having dealt with a fairly factual resume of the conditions and practices of my early working life in my first book it encouraged me to turn to an idea for a novel which had first been sparked by a story heard whilst I was on honeymoon, some fifty years earlier. I had two happy years developing and writing the book and then when I decided it could be published I turned straight to PublishNation again because of several factors.
First, the positive experience of working with them first time, second, the fact that I was not willing, at getting on for eighty, to send manuscripts to publishers and await replies, third, initiating and linking the necessary online accounts is done for you and, finally, the whole process was under my own control.
Now I have now circulated forty copies to friends and other personal contacts. If the general view is that the book is worthy of a much wider audience then, by just doubling my original modest outlay, Publish Nation can help me publicise it further. For me the whole exercise has been very smooth and I can highly recommend the use of PublishNation as a means of getting into print on Amazon Bookstore whilst, at the same time, retaining total personal responsibility and control over your own work.
