The expression keeping a dog and doing your own barking came to mind when I had finished writing ‘Ladbrokes On And Off The Rails’. I knew nothing whatsoever about self-publishing, and very soon realised that it was a silly idea to even contemplate doing it myself.
Google produced a list of many firms which could do what I thought I needed, and for no apparent reason PublishNation seemed to rise to the top of the list. Having contacted David Morrison, I decided that I would look no further. He and Gwen seemed the ideal people to take the book in its existing state and see it through to the end. And so it has turned out. Whichever criteria I set, whether it was experience, cost or results, or even the ability to pick and choose various modules, there was PublishNation at the top. Whatever I needed, they could do, and at a very reasonable charge.
I have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone who finds themselves in the same set of circumstances as I did. After all, writers should write and publishers should publish. Or, as we used to say at Ladbrokes, ‘horses for courses’.
